State Key Laboratory of Drug Release Technology and Pharmacokinetics was established with the approval of Ministry of Science and Technology in December 2010. As the attached institution to CSSX, State Key Laboratory of Drug Release Technology and Pharmacokinetics jointly set up an office with ISSX becoming the first national partner of ISSX in the world.<\/p>

Under the leadership of academician Changxiao Liu, the laboratory carried out research work in many fields, such as new drug discovery, dosage form design, drug release technology, pharmacokinetics and safe and effective biological effects\u00a0in vivo<\/em>, with the main line of drug release technology and pharmacokinetics research. Traditional Chinese medicine is the treasure of the Chinese nation. The research of modern TCM preparations and quality control is an important way and means to realize the modernization of TCM. Since the 1980s, Tianjin Institute of Pharmaceutical Research has developed the first TCM drop pills, soft capsules and other modern preparations, undertaken major national science and technology projects (Key projects in the “7th and 8th five-year plan”, the “11th Science and Technology Support Plan”, “Major New Drug Creation”, “Key R & D Project”, “TCM standardization construction”, “Key Project of National Natural Science Foundation”, etc.), completed more than 100 new drug quality standards, 10 standardized demonstration studies on Chinese herbal medicines and one\u00a0 Chinese patent medicine, 50 Chinese herbal formula granule quality standards, and performed a study on improving the quality standard of 14 large varieties of Chinese patent medicine. NDRC, MOST, MOF, General Administration of Customs and State Administration of Taxation jointly released the List of Newly Identified and All State Enterprise Technology Centers in 2020 (the 27th<\/sup>\u00a0batch).Technology Center of Tianjin Institute of Pharmaceutical Research Co., Ltd. Technology Center is approved as the national enterprise technology center. It is another national technology innovation platform of Tianjin Institute of Pharmaceutical Research following “State Key Laboratory of Drug Release Technology and Pharmacokinetics” and “National and Local Joint Engineering Laboratory of modern TCM preparations and Quality Control Technology”. Tianjin Institute of Pharmaceutical Research has been committed to innovative research and development of traditional Chinese medicine for more than 60 years, and independent research and development of 41 new Chinese medicine, won new drug certificate and realized the industrialization. In terms of TCM internationalization research, Tianjin Institute of Pharmaceutical Research has provided important technical support for the international registration of protoparaxotriol saponins, compound Danshen dripping pills, Guizhifuling Capsules, etc. In addition, Tianjin Institute of Pharmaceutical Research also undertook and completed the research of multiple intergovernmental international cooperation projects. Following the establishment of “China-ASEAN Joint Laboratory for International Cooperation in Traditional Drug Research” with\u00a0Guangxi University of Chinese Medicine in 2018, the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine “China-ASEAN Regional Characteristic Innovation R & D International Cooperation Base” declared by Tianjin Institute of Pharmaceutical Research in 2020 was approved, marking the TCM internalization to a new step.
